Owen and the Soldier, Lisa Thompson
"This is an easy to read book. It's about a boy that finds a stone soldier. He talks to the soldier about his feelings and his problems. His dad died in the war and he has no one that understands how he feels. He needs to stop the council from knocking the statue down! I enjoyed the drama and friendship. Good, excellent, cool and exciting!"

Illegal, Eoin Colfer & Andrew Donkin
"Illegal is a graphic novel about Ebo's journey from Ghana to Italy, but when they are just off the coast of Italy the boat they are on capsizes. Ebo is brave, ambitious and amazing. This book explains about how many people risk their lives to get to Europe, and is suitable for readers in 5th or 6th Class."
