Student Council
Earlier this month, elections were held in each of our 5th and 6th Classes in order to select the permanent members of our Student Council. Last week these pupils were invited to meet with the Student Council of St. Joseph's in Fairview in order to discuss their work and what they hope to achieve in the coming year.
The Scoil Mhuire Student Council meets once a month to discuss school development and matters that are important to our pupils. While the six permanent members of the Council attend every meeting that takes place throughout the year, each class is invited to send a different pupil to monthly meetings. In this way we aim to include as many different voices as possible. The first meeting of the Student Council took place today, and pupils participated in a robust discussion about our Anti-Bullying Policy with the aim of producing a child-friendly version of the document. Pupils also discussed their ideas for the school and its future.
