Our Journey to the Corn Herald Semi-Final
In our first game we played Scoil Thomáis in Castleknock. We won they game by a lot and it was a good way to start the competition.
In our second game we played St Pat's in Drumcondra. It was another decisive win and we were now guaranteed to qualify for the quarter finals.
In our third game we were playing St Pat's of Diswellstown at home in MIE. If we won this game we would top the group, have a home quarter-final, and an easier game. It was the hardest game we'd played, but we prevailed and won the game well.
In the quarter-final we were playing Holy Family from Swords. We knew this would be a tougher game so we had to play our best. It was a tough game and we were only winning by a point at half time. But in the second half we pulled together and kept our cool and won the game.
We always knew the semi-finals would be the hardest because we were set to face St Mary's of Rathfarnam. The game took place in a neutral venue, Lucan. It was wet and windy. The game was really tight and there was no room for mistakes, but sadly it wasn't our day and St Mary's won by a point. It was a difficult way to leave the competition, but we tried our best and worked together as a team.
We'd like to thank Ms McGinn and our families for all of their support throughout the season.
